Innsbruck – The corona pandemic hit the Tyrolean economy particularly hard last year. At 12.5 percent, the regional GDP fell significantly more than the Austrian average of 8.1 percent. The reason was the very high proportion of badly hit tourism in this country, which according to calculations by the Federation of Austrian Industries accounts for a good 60 percent (in Austria 28 percent) of all losses.
