Gross Halloween party game: feel the body parts of the witch or wizard

Here’s a relatively simple but fun Halloween party game that uses the power of suggestion to make it gross. Kids love this, because their vivid imagination makes it easy to believe it’s real. Basically, you have to touch body parts of witches or wizards. That is how.

Use some kind of story, like you were walking in the dark last night, looked up and saw a witch or wizard flying on a broomstick. The next thing she knew, he was flying erratically, making zigzag patterns in the sky.

Suddenly, you saw her plummet to the ground and crash. You ran to her and found out that she was already dead. So you cut her into little pieces and put her body parts in boxes (or bags).

“Now you can put your hand in the boxes and feel the parts of her body. You’ll have to tell me what you feel. Maybe you’ll get lucky and just touch her hair. Maybe you’ll feel her heart. Or, maybe you’ll get a soft wet eyeball! !”

To set up the game, you will need several bags, boxes, or containers that you cannot see through. Inside each box or bag, place a different “body part.” Make some dry, some wet, some hard, some soft, and you definitely have something soft and disgusting.

Poke holes in the sides just big enough to get a hand through, but not big enough to see through. If you’re using bags, pinch the opening together and tie a piece of yarn or string so it can only be opened part way, enough to fit a hand inside.

Here are ideas on what to use for different parts of the body:

Eyeballs: grapes, canned lychee, olives, cocktail onions

Brains: head of cabbage or boiled cauliflower, or a gelatin mold

Guts: canned tomatoes, cooked spiral pasta, the “guts” of a jack-o-lantern squash

Fingers: small sausages, small carrots

Hair: steel wool, corn silk, yarn

Skin: fruit leather, tortillas, baby cabbage leaves

Heart pudding or applesauce in a plastic bag, stewed whole tomato

Blood: chocolate syrup, corn syrup, maple syrup

Nails: pistachio seeds, sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds

Noses: avocado, mushrooms

Mystery part: tofu

This creepy Halloween party game will be a hit with your little goblins this holiday. Part of the fun is getting dirty. Children love to get their hands dirty, and when they can do it without catching a cold, they make the most of it. Also, thinking that something wet and musky could be blood and guts makes them think it might actually be true, even though a part of them knows they’re just pretending and not really feeling wizard brains.
