How to Get a Marriage License in Las Vegas

Marriage License in Las Vegas

Getting married in Las Vegas requires a lot of planning. Not only do you have to find a chapel, but you also need a legally certified wedding officiant and a marriage license. The good news is that you can get both of these things on the same day if you follow the correct procedures. The process starts with applying for a marriage license. This can be done at the Clark County Marriage Bureau, but you can save time by filling it out online in advance.

In order to marry in Nevada, both parties must be 18 years old and show up to the Marriage Bureau in person to complete the application. They must also have a valid form of government-issued ID that has their name and date of birth printed on it. Acceptable forms of ID include driver’s licenses, passports, military ID cards, and permanent resident cards. The name on the ID must match the name that is listed on the marriage application. Couples may choose to use their middle names in the marriage, but the official document will only list the legal name that appears on their government-issued ID.

The application also asks for basic personal information such as home address, phone number, and social security numbers. It’s important that this information is accurate and correct. Any errors will need to be corrected later, and that can sometimes require an additional fee payment.
