How to make your own tea lights

A great gift idea or party favor is the very effective and functional tea light. They’re cute, practical, and great for every home, whether it’s the kitchen, bathroom, or any room in the house. They are not only a nice gift idea, but also a good craft project for people of all ages, as well as a practical item for everyday home use and decoration.

Tea lights are ideal for any home, especially those homes where people love to cook. Lighting a tea light is a great way to dissipate those strong vapors that can cause people to tear up when cutting onions. They are also excellent for deodorizing the home from odors of fish, oil, and other cooking ingredients.

Store-bought tea lights are not that expensive. However, you can still get them cheaper by making your own, which is a good idea if you need to get them in bulk for party favors or other occasions. Plus, by making them yourself, you can also customize them with your own colors and scents. These candles are very easy to make and it only takes a little knowledge, imagination, creativity and patience to make them. But before you do that, make sure you’re prepared.

The first thing to do is bring all the necessary equipment to one area. Then get all the usual materials for making candles. Get lightweight plastic or aluminum teacups. All of these can be purchased at any grocery or craft store in the area. If not, they are also available online. There are some candle making kits available that will be cheaper to buy and easier to mix.

There are also some essential oils that can be mixed with the melted wax to scent it. Add some pencil chips to change the color. Try to coordinate the color of the scent with the color: yellow for the lemon scent, orange for the orange scent, and so on. Use imagination!

Tea light cups can be pre-wicked or pre-reeded, or the wicks can be placed in the cups by hand. Secure the wicks with a hot glue gun to prevent movement when the wax is poured. Be sure to place cups on a level surface before pouring. Wear protective gloves when doing this and wear an apron. Carefully pour the wax into the glasses and let cool.

After they’ve cooled, they’re ready to use at home, or you can turn them into little gifts or party favors. Set them aside or place them in a nice box or bag. The box can be personalized or customized with the name of the gift recipient or guest of honor. Add some ribbons to tie around the teacups for additional decoration. Embellish the box with ribbons or a cute butterfly on top of the box. In fact, you can decorate the item with any charm or trinket that suits the occasion or theme of the party. Hand out the tea lights to your guests. They are sure to love your simple homemade gift.
