Multiple Ways to Grill Corn on the Cob

Do you love corn on the cob? If you’re like most people, you do. Too bad it only comes at a certain time of year. As long as the cob is available, you can enjoy the recipes below:

Corn on the cob: foil inside

The first thing you’ll want to do is remove the shell and silk. You can soak the corn or skip this step.

To soak corn: Soak corn for 20 minutes in cold water. Make sure each piece is covered with water. When covered, it will allow the extra moisture to steam it.

If you want to skip the soaking procedure, wrap the corn in aluminum foil.

Grilled:

Preheat your grill to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Shake off excess water from each ear. Place each piece of corn on its own piece of foil. Then brush olive oil on each ear. (Do not use butter or margarine.) At this time you can add garlic, onion, or any spices of your choice. Wrap the ear in the foil.

Place each ear on the grill that is on medium heat. It rotates every so often. In 15 to 20 minutes your corn should be ready. Press a grain; when juice comes out, you’ll know it’s ready.

Remove corn on the cob from grill. Melt real butter and add salt to taste.

Grilled Corn with the Husk

The first step is to look at your corn on the cob. You may need to remove a layer or two of the husk from your corn. For at least 15 minutes, soak your corn cobs in cold water. Make sure each ear of corn is covered with water as it will retain moisture when on the grill.

Grilled:

When you soak the corn, turn on your grill and heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the 15 minutes are up, remove the corn from the cold water and shake off the extra water. Gently pull back on the shells and remove the silk. Use olive oil to brush each ear of corn. Do not use butter or margarine. Pull the corn husks up and cover each of the cobs. If you prefer, you can use twine to tie each ear of corn so the husk stays in place when on the grill.

Put the corn on the cob over medium heat on the grill. Flip the corn a couple of times to make sure it cooks evenly. Now place the corn on the cob over indirect heat and cover the grill. Keep the corn on the grill for 15 minutes. You can tell your corn is done when the leaves take on the dark silhouette of the corn kernels. Remove from grill, add butter and salt to taste.
