Sébastien Bruzzese, the current Cercle Brugge goalkeeper, was approached by Anderlecht a few months ago.

VSThis season, Sporting Anderlecht had to face a famous tile with the injury of their goalkeeper Hendrik Van Crombrugge. This long absence from the last Belgian rampart allowed Timon Wellenreuther to become the holder and to stand out (not always in a positive way) between the poles. If the Mauves have strengthened this winter with the arrival of Warner Hahn as N.3, the Brussels club had previously thought of Sébastien Bruzzese, a former member of the house.

The goalkeeper – free from any contract since last summer but now relocated to the Cercle de Bruges – had been approached by Anderlecht a few months ago. The main interested party explains it on the official website of his new club. “I received various offers, but none convinced me. Anderlecht made me an offer which I found unsatisfactory. It would have been for only a year, and the other perks were also insufficient for my liking. So I waited and the Cercle came up with a great offer, ”said the 32-year-old, who passed through Ghent, Bruges and Zulte Waregem among others during his career.

On March 3, Bruzzese participated in the quarter-final of the Belgian Cup against Anderlecht (1-0), but did not allow the Circle to reach the last four.
