Brighten your day with turquoise to relieve symptoms of mental illness

Do you suffer from a mental illness and don’t know how to face your day because of the stress it causes?

My angels gave me a mission to speak out about mental illness. In doing so, they gave me a message that if someone wears turquoise in their daily life, it will calm them down and help them get through the day.

Depression, anxiety, OCD, all mental illnesses are often ignored by sufferers and their family or friends. Many think it is a stigma to admit it. Too many people look down on us because they don’t understand the disease. If you don’t suffer from any symptoms of mental illness, you can’t begin to know what we’re going through. It has a lot to do with our functioning in general. What most people don’t realize is that we have a lifelong diagnosis. We can take medicine and take care of ourselves, but our disease may never go away. It is always waiting for the right moment to return to the surface.

Being depressed is very stressful. People are afraid to admit it because they don’t want others to think badly of them. The fact is, with all the turmoil in the world today, a lot more people are getting depressed. There is so much unemployment in the United States, it can cause a ripple effect in our lives. A big problem is that people lose their homes and some end up homeless. This makes people feel like nothing will ever get better.

I have first hand knowledge and experience with this persistent disease. It is difficult to live with depression and anxiety. It is a feeling of being stuck and without direction in life. For a long time I never wanted or was able to do much physically, so I mostly watched TV. I was hospitalized 2 times for suicidal thoughts and in 2014 I made an attempt. I felt like a wall had gone up and it wasn’t me who was going through the actions. I knew it was wrong, but I couldn’t control myself. My angels have been at the forefront in my life and orchestrated the event in a way that helps me stay on the right track and get more outpatient help. I am not ashamed of having a mental illness. My spirituality is part of what got me through this last year.

Here are some symptoms that are overlooked as signs of mental illness that we all need to be aware of.

• A feeling of constant sadness

• Unexplained physical pain

• Chronic physical illness

• Extreme exhaustion

• Anxiety with tremors, headaches, increased heart rate, chronic stomach pain, and nausea.

• Depression makes us not care

• Drug or alcohol abuse

It is important that you take care of yourself. You must “put on your oxygen mask first” before you can help others. Things can get better, although the disease may never go away completely. Having a healthy mental health is like a muscle. The more we work it, the stronger it becomes. Some ways that we can help ourselves are to follow a natural diet and have an exercise routine. Find something that interests us and follow it. For example, do puzzles, read self-help and inspirational books, watch your favorite TV shows. Try to get out in the sun for at least 10 minutes a day.

Believing in yourself is a big step in healing.

My message is “Brighten your day with turquoise”. My angels gave me this message to share because turquoise is considered to have a calming nature.

The meaning of the color turquoise is open communication and clarity of thought. It helps open the lines of communication between the heart and the spoken word. It is presented as a kind and cheerful color enjoying life. In color psychology, turquoise controls and heals emotions by creating balance and emotional stability. This is a color that recharges our spirit in moments of mental stress and fatigue, relieving feelings of loneliness. Just focus on the color turquoise, whether on a wall or clothing, and you’ll feel an instant calm and gentle vigor, ready to take on the world again!

When we have a mental illness, sometimes it’s hard to get through our days. We look for other ways to calm down and using turquoise is another way that can help. We can wear a turquoise shirt or outfit, even a hat or headband. We can paint our walls turquoise and accentuate them with landscape photos that have turquoise accents.

Other ways to use turquoise to calm:

* Wear turquoise jewelry or carry turquoise gemstones in your pocket

* Write positive affirmations on turquoise paper and post them around the house or workplace. It can be as simple as “I’M HAPPY” or “I’M CALM”

* If you are a plant lover you can use turquoise flower pots to brighten up a room.

*Artificial flowers

* Hang turquoise towels and shower curtains.

*Sheets, blankets and bedspreads

* Turquoise vision board with images of things that make you happy. Place it where you will see it often.

Let’s support people with depression and anxiety. It’s okay to acknowledge your suffering and be depressed. In doing so, it is a stepping stone to a healing journey and to leading a happier, more interactive and fulfilling life.

My vision is to have facilities for people to go and just relax and learn some coping skills. I learned a lot in outpatient programs after my hospitalizations. It’s hard to get into these programs, so I’m going to learn about having a non-profit organization to offer these kinds of places in the United States.

Remember to have faith and know that you can always get through anything!

Love and blessings, Catherine.
