“The big clubs never die” The saying fits perfectly with Union Saint-Gilloise, this more than a hundred-year-old club which experienced the heights during the first half of the 20th century, but also the descent into hell to taste the Promotion at the beginning of the 80s. The great era and Division 1 (1897-1973)

If the Union Saint-Gilloise was born on November 1, 1897, it was in 1901, during the first promotion to D1, that its great history began. A story that will see the USG crown national laurels 11 times, between 1904 and 1935. Even today, it is still the third most successful club in the Kingdom behind Anderlecht (34) and Bruges (16) but just ahead the Standard (10). The Union also has two Belgian Cups (1913 and 1914), as well as four titles in D2, three in D3 and one in Promotion.
