Putting in practice will lower your golf scores fast

Putting in practice for golf! Now doesn’t that sound exciting? Go to the putting green and spend 30 minutes putting that little ball in a hole. Shoot me now! But guess that? Putting is half your score! Do you think it is important to work on it?

If you’re like me… you avoid the practice green. I get bored so fast! It drives me crazy to stand on putts and try to make them. I know this may sound “off” as the ball has to go into the hole to make a good score, but I’d rather see a LONG straight drive than a putt any day!

But reality says we have to practice our putting to get better golf scores… so go ahead and do it!

I came up with an 8 minute putting routine that I do a couple of times a week, and it has dropped my score by 3 shots. That is very beautiful! I didn’t even work on my swing to do it. Just a little practice and my score AND handicap went down fast!

No matter how much time you have, you should come up with a routine that you do consistently. It may only be 5 minutes… but it’s better than nothing, and it’s sure to improve your score and help you avoid too many 3-putts.

The most important thing to work on is distance control and making short putts. Aim is important too, but if you don’t hit the hole, that doesn’t matter anyway, right?

So practice being consistent from 30 feet, 20 feet, and then 10 feet with your range control. Then spend the rest of your time on short putts. Maybe 4-6 feet. Do a bunch of these, because this is where you will earn your money.

If you must, get some golf putting instructions to help kick-start your putting practice routine.
