Extreme distortions on the labor market in the Landeck district | Tyrolean daily newspaper online

Landeck – The leisure industry in the tourism-intensive Landeck district employed more than 8,000 people, including seasonal workers, in the weeks before the first lockdown in 2020. Only the cable car companies currently employ a few people.

Against this background, the Landecker AMS shows another sad high point in the latest monthly statistics: 4635 unemployed as of January 31, an increase of 350.4 percent compared to the previous year. As reported, unemployment across Tyrol rose by 132.2 percent.

Women, young people, older people and foreigners who worked in service professions before Corona are particularly hard hit in the district. (hwe)
